The tools here will help you take short cuts, generate code, and get information out of the Map. Please keep the list alphabetized when adding an entry.
- 8Motions "Mapz" are simple maplet designed for mobile, that can be used to easily deploy or create simple application on mobile device. They can be as simple as a KML url to some much more complex ones, using behavior described in JavaScript.

- The most advanced ASP.NET GoogleMaps Control.
- This Photoshop script is excellent when you want to Add Your Own Custom Map. It will slice large images at any zoom level you tell it to, making thousands of image tiles and naming them correctly. It also includes a tutorial on how to use it.
- Wraps Google Maps API as ASP.NET custom control. Offers a way of adding Google Maps API to support ASP.NET pages.
- This is a Google search tool where the search is restricted to a number of different map sites.
- This tool is excellent for figuring out where to position your custom map art relative to Google's tile grid. You can load in your own image, scale it, and position it, and this tool will tell you how much to scale it by, how far to indent it from the first tile it is in, and give you the right x,y, and z values for your upper left tile. It is perfect for use with the Automatic Tile Cutter above.
- Use this c# command-line program to cut tiles from a Mercator based geo-referenced source image e.g. a .jpg file with an ESRI .jgw world file. Can also automatically find and process many images in a directory.
- Display KML on a google map without saving it to a server first. Just type it in and click a button.
- Find sites near yours - only finds sites registered with GeoSerendipity, and you must register your site.
- Open Source WMS and WFS has a gui to let you connect to your spatial database (PostGIS, Oracle, ArcSDE, MySQL) or shapefile, and the output can be overlaid easily on Google Maps (or Google Earth, or output as PDF or SVG, or viewed from a desktop GIS, or a web-based WMS client).
- You are searching for a location in Holland or Europe and don't know the the Latitude and Longitude to make the map? Resize for other countries in the world.
- Geokit is a Ruby on Rails plugin for mapping applications. It provides location finders for ActiveRecord, distance calculations (flat and Haversine), a uniform interface for geocoders (Google, Yahoo, Geocoder.us, Geocoder.ca, with failover!), and IP-based geocoding.
- geoXtract is an ETL (extract, transform, and load) tool that allows users to integrate data from tabular sources (currently supports, CSV, Excel, and Access MDB) with Google Maps and Google Earth. Standardized output is KML. Includes an online portal geoXtract.com that allows users to manage and share maps. Shared maps can be tagged with keywords and are viewable/searchable in the geoXtract Map Gallery.

- LGPL'd pure PHP classes to completely render Google Maps on any page. Some extra items like "extent maps." Check out the examples.
- gmaptrack allows you to create and place your own information onto Google Maps, and share with others. They host the map.
- GMouseWheelControl is a custom control built using Google Map API that allows panning using mouse scroll wheel. Another feature is automatically panning the map relative to mouse movements. It can be added to any google map mashups. Visit the site for a demo and more details.
- GZoom is a custom Google Maps control that allows you to zoom in on a region of a map by drawing a box around it. It's a single .js file with no dependencies, and it conforms to the standard GMaps custom controls API.
- An ASP.NET 2.0 control for Google Maps development in a .NET environment.
- This Google Maps mashup creation tool allows you to perform head-up digitizing on Google maps background images of your choice. Code snippets in KML, SVG, GMap, or Google Static maps are interactively generated while you work. Digitized graphics can be tagged with textual attributes and SVG animation effects. Complete SVG, KML, or Google Maps Mashup source code can be generated as a result of digitizing. You can generate your preview maps mashup while you work. - Google Toolbar includes automapping addresses.
- Use only HTML to create a map. This is NOT recommended for people who want to learn to hack their map. Good simple examples and explanations of how it works are on the page.
- JSP tag library that allows JSP developers to create Google Maps with no scripting. Includes advanced controls and overlays, provides an event based server-side callback mechanism for persistent storage and integrates with JSTL to generate database driven maps.
- A really simple tool to build Google map code to add to your website without geocoding locations. Find your locations then add your markers to the map. The Map Maker generates the HTML and JavaScript to add to your website.
- Like gmaptrack, you can create a map with points to share with others. They host the map.
- Parses your GPX file and plots points on a map.
- Instrument to calculate distances on a map When you want the scripts to create your own distance calculator you mail the webmaster.
- J2memap mobile map library
- J2memap is a library that provides an easy way to create map based applications on mobile using JavaME. The library is free for non commercial use and provide support for KML download, GPX, LOC and other format, as well as display of Google, Microsoft, OpenStreeMap and others map.
"Jenny Does Maps" generates feature-rich google maps based upon simple declarative specifications. These maps are easy to create and maintain. They are also accessible.
- A Google Maps component for the popular Content Management System, Joomla.
- Use this code to determine the map tile coordinates based on a zoom level and a lat/lon pair.
- Generate Google Map API source code that you can copy and paste into your own site. MapBuilder.net lets you tag locations on a map and publish it on your own site. Number of mapping goodies available at MapBuilder: CSV files import, GMaps APIv2 support, draggable markers, icons selection, etc.
- You can use these tools to auto-generate code for a pre-determined Polyline.
- Get data on your map adding data (long/lat) in .txt file. This map is a good template to design your own full screen maps. The div's in the demo give a good opportunity to add extra info.

- Map Cruncher Use Microsoft's Tile Generator for Google Maps.
- MGMaps
- Free software that displays Google Maps and Keyhole satellite imagery on Java J2ME-enabled mobile phones or other devices. Mobile GMaps is distributed under the Attribution/NonCommercial/NoDerivs Creative Commons license.
- Create and host custom data for Google Maps. Might be antiquated, last development note on site is 04/04/2005
- Add map on your own web site. Nothing to do. Administrate only. Copy the code they provide.
- This is a general purpose PHP forms generation and validation class that comes with a custom input plug-in to let the users select a location in world using Google Maps. The selected location coordinates are copied to text inputs for server side processing with PHP when the forms are submitted.
- Click on the map to add polygon markers, click on a marker to remove it. When you've outlined the polygon you want, you can render the polygon while example javascript code is generated.
- Some sample code for working with google tiles at a low level. Probably most useful on servers for Custom Map creation.
- A point-and-click interface to creating Google Maps. To add a marker, just click on the map and fill in a title and HTML for the marker body. Also has a line-drawing mode. This site hosts saved maps that can be emailed, posted in a blog etc., and also allows the map data to be downloaded in a data file for hosting elsewhere.

- This creation tool targets those who want to create their Google maps mashups and host the HTML pages on their web servers. You own the files you have created. Feeds created can work with Worldkit as well.

- Use this c# program to cut tiles from a geo-referenced source image e.g. a .jpg file with an ESRI .jgw world file in lat/lon coordinates.
- Stitch together Google Map tiles by using ImageMagick and Perl.
- Useamap Creates a map of your location and gives code to embed it onto your website.
- WikiMap MapBuilder Utility
- A collection of tools to share your Map with others and collectively build Geographic Knowledgebase. You can use the tools to share a location point over mail privately. You can also generate code to show the map in your own website. You can add information missing locations in Google Map in a data base or use the website to find distance covered by a route.
- Easily display and update (through AJAX) Google Maps from a Ruby-on-Rails application. A stand-alone tool to generate tiles from custom maps or WMS servers is also included. Check these 2 tutorials: YM4R tutorial 1, YM4R tutorial 2.
