Reporting Map Errors

From Google Mapki

Jump to: navigation, search

If you find errors and omissions in the data displayed on the actual map tiles themselves, you can report the problem to the organisations that prepare the maps, or to Google.

Check the copyright information at the bottom of the map. This will indicate which organisation supplies the map data to Google.

If the map data is owned by Tele Atlas, you can use the Tele Atlas Map Insight tool to report the problem.
If the map data is owned by NAVTEQ, you can use the NAVTEQ Map Reporter tool to report the problem.
You can also report the problem to Google, using Google Maps: Report a problem and select the "The map data was incorrect or out of date" option.

I suggest reporting the full details of the problem to Tele Atlas or NAVTEQ, so that they get the details first hand and in the format that they prefer, then post summary details to Google just to keep them informed.

Be aware that it may take a very long time for the problem to be fixed.
